The Retirement Audit is a personal finance publication covering the financial decisions Americans 55 and older face in and around retirement, from Social Security and Medicare to income, savings, taxes, and everything in between. Our website is theretirementaudit.com.

What data we collect and why
Email address
When you submit your email to receive a free guide or newsletter, we collect your email address. We use it to send you the requested content and our weekly newsletter about retirement finance topics. We do not sell your email address to third parties.
Usage data
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site: pages visited, time on site, approximate location, and device type. This data is aggregated and not linked to your identity. You can opt out via Google’s opt-out tool at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Cookies

Email service provider
Your email address is stored on our self-hosted mailing platform and sent via Amazon Simple Email Service (SES). Amazon’s privacy policy is available at aws.amazon.com/privacy. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email we send.
Data retention
We retain your email address for as long as you remain subscribed. Upon unsubscription, your address is permanently deleted within 30 days. Analytics data is retained according to Google’s standard retention settings.

Articles on this site may contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies before submitting any personal information.
How we protect your data
Your email address is stored on a private VPS server protected by SSL encryption, SSH key authentication, and regular backups. We use it only to send you content you requested.
Children’s privacy
This site is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, contact us at privacy@theretirementaudit.com and we will delete it promptly.
